In 1997, a case study for using PAK™27 was performed at the Bill Evers Reservoir in Bradenton, Florida. Bill Evers Reservoir, which is fed by the Braden River, has a surface area of 330 acres and a capacity of 1.5 billion gallons of water. The results of this study revealed that as little as 6.5 pounds per acre-foot is effective as an algaestat for cyanobacteria species like Anabaena and Planktothrix (Oscillatoria).
